One half of the famous Hughes brothers, Albert Hughes was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1972. His Armenian mother, Aida, was very supportive of the film-making ambitions of Albert and his twin brother, Allen. Aida bought her sons a video camera when they were only twelve years old and from then on, the guys were hooked. After graduating from high school, Albert began taking classes at Los Angeles City College
and is the more technical one of the twins. The success of two short films Albert made with his brother gave him the opportunity to direct Menace ll Society in 1993
which grossed nearly ten times the film's initial three million dollar investment. The next film this talented duo made was Dead Presidents, starring Chris Tucker.
Recently, Albert Hughes was announced as the director of Art Con, to be released in 2006.
